Welcome back to the very Estate where sheep dog trailing started in 1873, the trial committee managed a grand show, filled with many demonstrations and rural interests, this event was enjoyed by some 20,000 visitors.

Competitors from 13 countries competed through these 4 days of sheep dog trials. Top Continental handlers such as Toby Knive, Serge Van der Sweep and Anna Kruger came to Bala, in North Wales, to take on the top ranked sheep dog handlers in the world. And they competed with great ability, showing their strength in their relatively new sport. Alasdair MacRae travelled to the UK, from his home in Virginia, in search of 2 sheep dogs to compete with, and then went on to find a place with Don on the final day.

2 days of qualifying with 160 sheep dogs competing for a chance in the Saturday’s semi finals. Then the 40 semi finalists came down to the 16 finalists on the Sunday. There were several handlers who could have won this fine trophy with scoring and different situations effecting their runs and final placing.

Rural Route Videos, in partnership with the International Sheep Dog Society, has produced this 150 minute video covering the 4 days of this great and note worthy sheep dog trial. Lots of interviews lead you through the days of this trial, a sheep dog trial that will be remembered as a unique event in the sheep dog calendar.

Some people had asked to see more of the top scoring handlers at the 2005 World Trial from Tullamore, Ireland. This trial was the second World Trial held under the jurisdiction of the International Sheep Dog Society and there were many world class handlers and their Border Collies competing in the 4 day event.

16 handlers qualified for the Final Day of competition. Rural Route Videos has featured the complete runs of the top 5 competitors in this 2 hour video.
The day started out with a thick fog and competition was delayed until 10:00am. It was a difficult course but turned out to be a great day of trialing, even in the hot temperatures that caused a number of retirements in the afternoon.
This video features the runs, interviews and scores of the 5 top scoring finalists.

The 2005 World Sheep Dog trial was held near Tullamore in Ireland, in July. Over 200 dogs representing 21 nations traveled to Ireland to compete in this second World Trial, held under the banner of the International Sheep Dog Society.

4 days of trialing ending up with a close finish, with Gordon Watt and York narrowly winning over the second place Nigel Watkins and Peg.
This 2 hour video highlights the complete event held at the Charleville Estate near Tullamore. The grand parade, the Country Fair, qualifying, semi-finals and final days of trialing with many interviews from handlers and organizers. This was a grand event enjoyed by thousands of visitors and competitors from around the World.

This second World Trial to be held under the banner of the International Sheep Dog Society was held in the beautiful parkland setting of the Charleville Estate near Tullamore. Border Collies and their handlers from 21 countries vied for a chance to run in the semi-final competition.
42 top Border Collies found a place in the semi-final competition and this 2 hour video features highlights of all 42 runs and also includes interviews with many of the World Class handlers.
Only 16 handlers and their Border Collies went on to the Final competition on the Sunday at this 2005 World Sheep Dog Trial and so this video gives you a chance to see how the competitors from all around the World fared in this momentous event.
