US Border Collie Handlers Association,
National Sheepdog Finals 2003
The 2003, US Border Collie Handlers Association, National Sheepdog Finals were held
this year near Sturgis, South Dakota at the historic site of Fort Meade.
The 5 days of sheepdog trialing finish up with the runs of the top 20 Border Collies
all vying for a chance at the US Border Collie Handlers Association Championship trophy.
Alasdair MacRae and Bill came to this trial as the defending champions but were met with
stiff competition. 3 handlers managed to qualify 2 Border Collies each for the final day
of competition, Alasdair MacRae with Bill and Link, JoAnn Zoerb with Gidge and Zoe and then
Ralph Pulfer with Dan and Tweed. A beautiful course rising up the hillside towards the South.
It was just a very well organized event with difficult but consistent sheep. Join us as this
150 minute video highlights these 5 days of sheepdog competition.
