For many years, going well back into the early 1900's, the Creelman
family in Nova Scotia have been working in the woods using the power of
the heavy horse to harvest their lumber. Today their Percheron horses
are still working for them, but now advertising their very successful
business. The Percheron horses that make up the Creelman stable are
exhibited under the name of Cape Cod Percherons, and represent and
advertise the wide range of products that fall under the name, Cape Cod
Siding, the Creelman manufacturing business. As successful as the Cape
Cod Percherons have been, so also has their business.

At the World Percheron Congress, 2004, at Brandon, Cape Cod Percherons
won many of the awards, being most successful in the hitch classes,
winning the 8 horse hitch as well as the prestigious, World Percheron
Congress, 6 Horse Hitch. The 4 horse hitch also went their way. It was
back in the mid 90s, the last time the Percherons from this stable
won this major award. A credit to the breeding lines and the strength
of their handlers, many of these same Percheron horses are still part
of this team today, all these years later.

Although the Creelman business is based in Nova Scotia, and they keep
some of their Percheron horses in this Maritime province, in actual
fact, their horses are trained and handled by the Craig Grange family
from Delmar, Iowa. Krista Grange also won the Ladies Open Cart class
at this year's Percheron show in Brandon. You can get to see more of
Cape Cod Percherons in our 105 minute, Highlights, video.
You can see all of these fine Percheron horses on either a DVD or on a VHS tape.
